Dr. Phil Rumrill
Educational Foundation and Special Services

Currently the director of the Center for Disability Studies at Kent State University’s Educational Foundation and Special Services, Dr. Rumrill’s research interests include the career development implications of disability, self-advocacy strategies for people with disabilities, assistive technology, chronic illness, program evaluation and research design and methodology.

He has 109 articles published in national and international journals—87 of which were published during his eight years at Kent State. He has authored six books, 14 book chapters and nine training manuals and technical reports. Dr. Rumrill has given countless presentations on rehabilitation, education and health care. He has worked with colleagues to develop two measurement instruments related to career self-efficacy and career maintenance and has been awarded grants and contracts with a total budget of more than 6.5 million dollars.
