Welcome Back Lab

New cadets meet returning cadets and learn more about the Kent State University Army ROTC program and the university itself during the start of the semester.

Land Navigation Lab

A cadet uses a map and protractor to pinpoint locations on a
map and eventually finds those locations on a land navigation course.

Rope Bridge Lab

A cadet crosses a rope bridge. The lab teaches cadets the fundamentals of knot tying and instills confidence in them.

Leadership Lab

ROTC leadership labs aren't your typical college lab. Cadets gain practical leadership skills through a variety of labs such as battle drills, combat water survival, and rock climbing.

Contracting

A cadet formally commits to complete the Army ROTC program and later serve as an Officer in the U.S. Army. The commitment, also known as contracting, is not required for cadets who are taking the military science freshmen or sophomore classes.

Awards

The cadets recognize each other for their accomplishments during the semester.
