Dr. Griffith holds a Ph.D. in Special Education and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of children and families. Dr. Griffith has also been a licensed speech-language pathologist, a teacher of students with hearing impairments, and those with developmental disabilities. Her research interests for many years dealt with language development and disorders in children, however, more recently she has become interested in the needs of adolescents with disabilities and mental health issues. Dr. Griffith has directed or co-directed more than 25 doctoral dissertations in Special Education, and currently provides funding for doctoral students through an OSERS Leadership Training Grant.
