1. OPEN STUDENT FORUM:
For Wednesdays open student forum CHANGE members made about 50 cardboard / poster board hats that said "Sweat-Free K.S.U. Now!" About 20 people wore it at the forum, it was great! Chandler made a strong statement in regard to the proposed mandatory health care, it was followed with applauding by the vast majority of the participants. Mike and Oren asked about 3-4 questions about the sweatshop situation. the questions were:
a) Why is it that the KSU administration did not bring up or do something about the sweatshop issue until students started speaking up?
b) Looking at the history of the way KSU did not respect committees decisions (Nancy Scott office and the civility committees) why should the student believe that the sweatshop committee will be any different?
c) Why is KSU the only university that kept the committee anonymous?
The KSU administrators tried to hide and were NOT able to answer any questions!!! After every question was a deathly silence!!! After the second question Oren got tired of the silence so he asked Nancy Scott to answer. She did not know what committe we were talking about and said that we are wrong and a code of conduct is about student's behavior on campus.
We definitely got their attantion!

2. LIBRARY ACTION: Around twelve o'clock today out of no where appeared "Sweat-Free KSU" on the library windows. no one in CHANGE knows who did it, but it was really cool.

3. we reserved tables for monday and thursday from 11-2...if anyone can come and help pass petitions and talk to people, please do. or, if you can table any other day, please go to the scheduling office and schedule tables.

4. oren and ellen met with watson on wednesday and a few things that came up were that the committee will be one graduate, four undergrad, three faculty, and two staff. Watson turned in a request to the Graduate and Undergrad Student Senates and they already started looking for students for the committee. Watson wants them to turn in recommendations by March 22nd. if you know of anyone who wants to be on the committee, let us know. Another thing is that watson asked us to find people for a panel discussion...people from the WRC, Dara O'Rourke, FLA, etc. this panel would be sometime in April between the 12th and the 20th. This event would be a University sponsered and paid by event.

5. April 4th- for april 4th we are having four days of events.
MARCH 3RD: all day movies about workers rights/sweatshops, etc.
APRIL 4TH: 11-2 We'll have a rally and after that we'll have about three workshops. one by AFSCME, one by SOA watch, and one by CHANGE.
APRIL 5TH: We'll have a speaker to speak about the new Star Wars plan, and hopefully someone from the WRC.
APRIL 6TH: We'll have a big benefit for change.
If you have any ideas of events, speakers, workshops, actions, etc....please let Megan or Oren or Julie know. the april 4th event is a big, important event and we're going to be spending a lot of energy to make it successful. we need everyones help as much as possible.

7. We have the second floor showcase until the 23rd. Also, we need help with getting a banner together for April 1st. this banner will be between the hub and the KIVA from april 1st- 7th. if you have connections in getting banner material or getting a banner done cheap, let Oren know.
