Agenda

SPEAKERS

Mike will email Pat G. and ask about a speaker possibly coming this semester. There will be a few people working on the paper work to get allocations for Howard Zinn to speak in April.

S&M UPDATE

We want to make sure that facts are all straight before we start a campaign. Stephanie has been getting in contact with other universities that have kicked S&M off their campus.

FRIDAY RALLY

Seemed to go well. The (still unnamed) anti-war group on campus against the bombing in Afghanistan organized the rally.

ECO CONFRENCE

Oct 19-21 there will be a major conference in DC visit www.econference2001.org to learn more about it. Contact us if you are interested in going.

WAR PIGS

Oct. 9 Tues. from 11 am until 9pm in Manchester Field. People need to sign up for tabling and bring chairs and tables if they have them. There is also a need for a tent/tarp, a large rug to make a stage from, and speakers.

CEMENT WORKERS

The cement workers are on strike but we feel that we should be focused more on the janitors because the cement workers are making 3-5 times more than the janitors are. CLERICAL WORKERS

The clerical workers are trying to unionize. We are going to try to set up a table for them sometime. LIVING WAGE

We have decided that living wage will be a focus of CHANGE. We are trying to get a speaker come for the next meeting and talk about living wage issues. Mike will contact the coalition and tell them about this. Megan will contact a speaker and bottomline and get a room for this event. Also people can start researching more.

Working groups were S&M, Homecoming and War Pigs.
