What is Rush?
Rush is a series of informal, and sometimes more formal
gatherings and social events so that men interested in joining Delta Lambda
Phi can meet the active brothers and see what we are all about. At no time is
the rush period a commitment to join the fraternity.
What is a Bid?
After the rush process is over Delta Lambda Phi will extend
bids, an invitation to join the fraternity, to those men who have shown a genuine
interest in the fraternity, as well as demonstrate the qualities and standards
that we look for in a Lambda Man. Those being honor, integrity, character and
desire to work as a team.
What is a Pledge?
Upon accepting the a bid, you will enter into a period
of education and evaluation called pledge. The pledge period begins with your
pledge induction ceremony and Pledge period runs eight weeks. During this time,
you will learn the history, symbols and traditions of the Fraternity, as well
as plan and conduct a social, a service and a fundraising project. The time
commitment is not huge, but it is intensive. Plan on an average of 4-6 hours
a week and a bit more during crunch time and Challenge week.
Important Pledge Education Dates!
You must be able to meet these date requirements to
be able to pledge during the Spring 2003 semester.

For all events labeled as Location TBA, contact a brother or email us for the location/time.
How much will pledging cost?
There is a one time only non-refundable Pledge fee of
$40.00. Half will be due at New Pledge Orientation, and the other half will
be due two weeks later. This fee goes towards your Pledge Pin, Pledge Shirt,
Pledge Book, and to pay for all mandatory Pledge socials. The only exceptions
are for BOLT, Night of Madness, and your Greek Paddle, which must be paid for
by the Pledges. These costs can be kept to a minimum, and we will do everything
to help ensure that they are. Upon completion of the Pledge Process and Initiation,
there is a one-time Initiation fee payable to our national organization of $90.00.
Fifty dollars of that is for new brother registration, and the other $40.00
is for a national insurance payment.
