Kent State to Hold Campus-Wide Food Drive for Make A Difference Day.

On Saturday, October 27th, Kent State will join millions of Americans across the country for
the 17th Annual Make A Difference Day, doing volunteer projects to improve their communities and help neighbors in need. The day is the largest community service effort in the nation, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action. Kent State will take part in this nationwide event by holding a campus-wide food drive.
Our goal is to collect 1.500 pounds of non-perishable food, helping to contribute to Portage County’s goal of 15,000 pounds. All collected food items will remain in Portage County, filling local food pantries just in time for winter. Food donation boxes will be placed in the majority of buildings around campus Wednesday, October 10th and will remain until Thursday, October 25th. Help Kent State to make a difference in our community and reach our goal by donating non-perishable food items or purchasing your own Make A Difference Day t-shirt. All proceeds from t-shirt sales will be used to purchase additional non-perishable food items. Kent State University’s Make A Difference Day is being sponsored by: The American Marketing Association,
Circle K, Human Service Management Student Association, Sociology Club, Sigma Alpha Lambda, Delta Zeta, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Phi Omega, Golden Key, Business President’s Roundtable, and University Communications and Marketing.
