Website InformationCreated: Summer, 2002 Technical: Abiding with current W3C standards, this website is coded with XHTML1.0 and CSS2.0. This format keeps structure/content separated from style in order to provide a wider range of potential audience. Dynamic content was made possible by a database driven back-end. Database connection is accomplished using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) and CFML (Cold Fusion Markup Language). Our database conforms to the relational database (RDBMS) conceptual model in order to maximize efficiency for data retrieval. The goal for this database is to enable officers to update website content without having to edit or know (X)HTML or CFML. Templates were also made possible by CFML. Templates allow code reuse to save space and time when creating new pages. It provides an intuitive way to maintain pages for future webmasters. Art work and graphics design done in Adobe Photoshop 6.1/7.0 Credits: Steve Bassler, author of YAVS, which we are utilizing for news display.
