KENT - Bada Dasain,
the tenth day of the biggest Hindu festival, was celebrated amidst
cultural shows at the university's Office of International Affairs Van
Campan Hall.
Four senior members of the
association, P. Basnet, C. P. Pokhrel, F. Bhatta and S. Joshi offered
tika
on the occasion.
"I feel happy about the way
the community celebrated Dasain here," said Jagannath Silwal, a freshmen
in biotechnology.
Nearly 70 members,
including guests from the Universities of Akron, Cleveland and
Youngstown, were present. New members of the association were introduced
by Subas Dhakal, secretary of Kent-NSA.
Show host and exchange
business junior, Abha Rajbhandari, called artists to perform dance
sequences and read out poems.

KENT- The Nepalese Student
Association at Kent State University held it's third General Assembly at
the university's Office of International Affairs Van Campan Hall.
Naresh Shakya, outgoing
president of Kent NSA, handed over charges to Parshu Gyawali, the newly
elected president.
Speaking as a guest of
honor Prof. Larry Starzyk said he was delighted to be a part of the
Nepali community at Kent.
The program was followed by
a buffet dinner.

KENT- The election for
Nepalese Student Association at Kent State University
(Kent-NSA) executive committee 2007-08 was held at
the university's Student Center Saturday. The eight member committee is
headed by Parshu Gyawali for one year.
Kent State has 28 active
and 13 affiliate members.
Yadav Pandit and Gyanu
Acharya presided over the election as election commissioners.
