"Harmony between Believers and Non-believers"

Student speakers

Mr. Naresh Shakya

The purpose of my talk is about my experience with my religion “Buddhism”, which I received by birth. Actually, I am neither an expert in Buddhism nor will be able to become an expert. But as I grew up in a Buddhist family and practiced the rituals, I have felt that my life was attached with my religion. It has now helped me to move on better in life.

I'll talk about religious initiation as a child, living in a locality surrounded by Buddhist artifacts, involvement in different social activities in the name of religion that affected my beliefs and actions.

To be a Buddhist is to maintain daily discipline, develop tolerance, ease social life and continue the practice for posterity so that good values are shared for the benefit of all.

Mr. Shakya is a doctoral student in physics department at Kent State University.)
