Mission Statement

             S.A.L.S.A. is a student organization created to assist in the success of the Latino students at Kent State University.  S.A.L.S.A.’s objectives are

· To secure the representation and status of Hispanics in the university community

· To serve as a link between the university administration, students and community,

· To inform the administration of the needs and concerns of Hispanic and Latino students.

· To educate the university community about issues of importance to Hispanics and Latinos

· To increase written and spoken Spanish in the university community

· To facilitate interaction between people of all cultures

· To provide academic, social and philanthropic programs and activities with the goal of breaking cultural barriers and creating friendship.

 

Declaración de Propósitos

             S.A.L.S.A. es una organización estudiantil creada para ayudar en el éxito de los estudiantes Hispanos y Latinos en Kent State University.  Los propósitos de S.A.L.S.A. son:

· Aseguar que los estudiantes Hispanos y Latinos en la comunidad de Kent State University sean representados.

· Servir de enlace entre la administración universitaria, estudiantes y comunidad

· Informar a la administración de las necesidades y preocupaciones de estudiantes Hispanos y Latinos.

· Concientizar a la comunidad universitaria sobre los asuntos que son importantes para Hispanos y Latinos.

· Aumentar el uso del español escrito y oral en la comunidad universitaria

· Facilitar interrelaciones entre las personas de todas las culturas

· Proveer programas y actividades con la meta de romper las barreras culturales y forjar amistades.
