Aria

By Ryan Patrick Houk
I want to change the world with the sound of my voice
Guerilla market the truth of choice
"You are what you want to be."
"You’re your own worst enemy."
And if you won’t try, then don't come and cry your excuses to me
Your stories of glories that exist in past tense,
No offense,
Don't impress me much
It's a shame that your game's out of touch with reality
But that doesn't mean that you’re welcome to ask me
To play by your rules
I won't sign legislation degrading generations of tools
Of their own self-destruction
When they're not in the know of the goal of construction of self
And self worth
"What the hell are you doing to prove
Your existence will benefit Earth,
Redefine mankind,
Comfort hearts, challenge minds
And mean something?"
I know that it's easy to like when it's worry-free
But life isn't what you do; trust me,
It's what you decide to be
So, what are you being?
What pain are you fleeing?
How are you free yourself from your fear?
Because fear ruins the fun of it
Shed a tear; be done with it
Move on to the dawn of free choice
And then, change the world with the sound of your voice.
